Description
Mizuno MP 64 Iron
From conception, the Diamond Muscle MP-64, Grain Flow Forged iron was designed for Mizunos professional tour staff.
With the shallowest cavity, the MP-64 offers a touch more forgiveness than a traditional blade with Mizunos R&D team focussed on producing the softest, most solid feel possible.
A quest for more feedback led the MP-64 to a thicker, bulging muscle pad behind a wider portion of the clubface. The thicker portion produces the smoother feel that Mizunos tour staff recognised from previous muscleback irons.
The smoother look and feel of the MP-64 is complemented by a softer edged, more playable sole shape. While Mizunos overall tour grind is maintained, less defined edges produce more consistent turf interaction and distance control.
Long iron cavities are deeper than the MP-64s predecessor ensuring that forgiveness is added where needed most. Cavity depth reduces evenly through the set, until reaching the compact short irons which are thick and feel orientated.
MP-64s are Grain Flow Forged at Mizuno's exclusive Hiroshima / Japan facility for exceptional precision now evident in the 3D Runbird.

Testimonials:
"We flipped the design process on the MP-64. Maximising feel became the absolute priority - with forgiveness added afterwards. With other more forgiving ‘player’ irons in our line like the JPX825Pro and MP-59, we were free to really chase impact sensations. “Everything about the MP-64 iron is soft, from the muscle definition, the sole contours and ultimately the feel."
Chris Voshall - R&D
