The club features a 15° loft, an offset hosel for less slice, a deep center of gravity, a high moment of inertia (MOI-the club's ability to resist twisting), and a shorter 44.5" shaft. The Gold's deep center of gravity provides greater forgiveness on off-center hits. The offset hosel gives golfers an extra fraction of a second to square and close the club face and eliminate the dreaded slice. The radiused sole design moves more weight to the rear of the club head for a higher MOI and enhanced forgiveness. For greater control, the Gold's graphite shaft is shorter than some drivers making it extremely accurate and easy to hit. The JMAX is a low profile hybrid-fairway with a super-thin hyper steel face and walls that allow more weight to be repositioned in the sole. On impact, the heavy radius sole produces a crisp feel and “hot” launch, with minimal club head twisting and reduced drag.

The Gold's graphite shaft is shorter than a typical fairway wood making it more accurate and controllable than other fairway woods. In fact, the shaft's low torque and flex point minimize club head twisting at impact and deliver a high-and-quick launch for reduced dispersion and more accurate shots.

Improving on the wildly popular JMAX series, the new and improved JMAX Gold features a two-piece construction that features a hyper steel body and a forged crown that maximizes weight distribution to easily get the ball into the air. Thinner and denser than the cast walls, the forged steel crown provides a lower center of gravity and enhances rebound off the face.

Crown pull casting technology creates a stronger more dense body so the walls and face can be made thinner to get more spring off the face and place more mass in the sole. The face is made as thin as possible with variable face thickness and structurally supported with three internal reinforcement bars.

The Gold's heavy 125 gram sole creates one of the lowest centers of gravity available in an iron. The result, even off-center hits fly longer and more accurate for lower scores.
