Pedego Replacement Battery

Pedego batteries contain Samsung or Panasonic cells, both one of the premier battery manufacturers in the world. The battery makes up around a third of the value of your electric bike, so it is nice to know you have some of the best cells on the planet! This is reflected in Pedego’s industry-leading two year limited warranty.

Choosing the correct battery depends on your riding needs and budget. Even the smallest Pedego battery will give you ‘real riding’ ranges of between 25 and 50 km. For most people, this is more than enough to cover their typical rides. Pedego offers four different batteries that are classified by their voltage and amp-hour ratings.

36V 10Ah (360Wh)
36V 15Ah (540Wh)
48V 10Ah (480Wh)
48V 15Ah (720Wh)

The voltage determines how powerful the bike will feel and the amp-hours relate to how far the bike will go on a single charge. For example, a 36V 15Ah battery would be expected to provide 50% more range than a 36V 10Ah battery, if all the riding conditions were kept identical. A common misconception is that more amp-hours gives you more power rather than more range.

The actual ‘capacity’ of a battery is found by multiplying the batteries volts (V) times the amp-hours (Ah) to give watt-hours (Wh). As can be seen above, the 36V 15Ah and the 48V 10Ah batteries actually have quite similar capacities. The range you can achieve on your bike is very variable and the capacity of the battery is only one factor affecting this. Other equally important factors include: the level of rider input; how much you stop and start (very important!); hills; tire pressure; wind; speed; and the level of pedal assist selected.
