The secret of golf is to have a delayed strike or lag impact where your hands lead the clubface through impact. When your hands lead the club face through impact you maintain control over the clubface until after the ball has been struck and compress the ball at impact. Controlling the clubface through impact means you control the distance and accuracy of your ball.

The DST Compressor 8 Iron warm golf swing trainer comprises all aspects of the DST patent pending technology. The scientifically curved shaft replicates the shape of a normal shaft under its maximum load during impact, the DST Compressor forces you into a position where your hands lead the club face through impact and control it until after the ball has been struck. The curved shaft combined with the amended sole angle and Hand Position Alignment Marker (HPAM) enables you to locate a set up position and practice returning the club to the same position through impact every time. “The best training aid I've ever used - the man who designed this deserves a medal. Very solidly made. After just a sessions at home with practice balls and then two 'live' sessions hitting real balls, I had one of the best iron striking (half) rounds of my life - I'm a 13 handicap and for 9 holes shot two over with a 3 putt and 6 greens in regulation. Even though that is only one test, more encouraging in an on going sense is that impact feel, sound of strike, distance, trajectory and dispersion were all much improved. I can't wait to put in more work with the compressor. Basically it is just a case of hitting it and finding what works - it really makes you find the right impact position and transitioning back to ordinary clubs is fairly straightforward. For me it encouraged a nice draw, although this risked getting a little hooky in the longer clubs. I'd love to see a compressor driver in due course. Anyway, in summary a fantastic training aid!!! In the Hole Golf also provided great service and quick (overseas) shipping - will definitely use them again.”

“Great training aid. Teaches you the proper takeaway, top of the swing, transition, downswing and most importantly impact position or you will hit many shanks. This training aid revealed how I used to fly open with my left shoulder and what a poor impact position I had gotten in to. You just can't help but get into a perfect impact position. I find that getting into a static impact position creates as great a feeling as does the full swings. I would recommend a lot of static position practice to ingrain the feeling. Full swings will expose all weaknesses in a golf swing. Start off with half swings and don't get discouraged. I find that for full swings, the feeling of lifting your hands and arms in a more vertical plane creates a slightly less inside out swing for solid contact and no shanks. You will also need to pay particular attention to your posture during full swings. If you are someone like me who tends to "hump the goat" this will help rid yourself of that terrible swing flaw. Again, disciplined practice is key for success. I currently play to a 4 handicap and still cannot believe I shoot some of the low scores that I do with all my swing flaws. I'm being patient and know these changes will be slow to come but well worth the time and effort the DST provides. It really is worth every penny because it just flat out works.”
