TaylorMade R9 Drivers
Whether you buy a R9 or R9 TP, a R9 460 or a R9 460 TP or a R9 Supertri, TaylorMade R9 drivers can be customized to individual swings. The Taylor Made R9 has 8 different positions utilizing a metallic sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft, which changes the angle of the face, as well as 3 different weight settings, which change the club’s center of gravity. Consequently, the driver can be optimized to fit anybody’s swing from low handicapped players to high handicapped players. Having said that, it is advisable to be “fitted.” Golfers who do not know how to properly adjust the club or even know what setting they should have, may become frustrated if the TaylorMade R9 driver does not perform up to its advertised potential. A proper “fitting” will customize the club to your swing.
The PR on TaylorMade R9 drivers claim 75 yards in their side-to-side trajectory change due to TaylorMade’s Flight Control Technology (FCT) which lets you change the face angle, loft and lie, and their Movable Weight Technology (MWT®) which lets you change the club head's center of gravity. Look for the specific technical specs on the individual product pages at IN THE HOLE! Golf.
The stock shaft for the Taylor Made R9 is a proprietary Fujikura Motore 65 gram shaft for men and 55gram for ladies in regular, stiff, and extra stiff flexes. The High Inertia Tip (H.I.T.TM) technology of the club promotes faster ball speed. The standard shaft length is 45″. The TaylorMade R9 TP, the Tour Preferred edition, comes with a choice of several shaft upgrades. Its standard length is 45.75".
The TaylorMade R9 Supertri is the newest driver to be introduced. This maximum-sized 460cc club head with both TaylorMade Flight Control Technology and their Movable Weight Technology has an exceptionally deep clubface and a sleeker aerodynamic head shape for less drag. You’ll notice that the TaylorMade R9 Supertri has a stylish "black-on-black" club head and clubface. Its Fujikura Motore 60-gram shaft promotes higher launch angle and more spin, which helps many players achieve longer carry resulting in increased ball distance. The R9 SuperTri TP features the same head as the R9 SuperTri, but with ten premium shafts choices. It's available in four lofts: 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5 and five shaft flexes: L, M, R, S, X.
Because of glowing reviews, everyone is talking about the TaylorMade R9 line of drivers.
TaylorMade R9 & R9 TP Irons
More than a decade ago TaylorMade introduced their R7 series of golf clubs. Now golfers can experience the technological advances that earned the TaylorMade R9 irons the Golf Digest Gold award as the most innovative game improvement iron for 2010.
The TaylorMade R9 irons are designed according to Harry Arnett, TaylorMade's senior category director of metalwoods, irons and balls, for the golfer who is more of a technician. So although the emphasis is on forgiveness the Taylor Made R9 irons are surprisingly controllable for fades and draws.
The design of the simple teardrop shape head has a clean and conventional appearance. However, an incredible “degree of performance-enhancing technology is packaged within each oversized club head. The result is an iron that's phenomenally easy to play despite its classic appearance, and extremely controllable and accurate as well." The TaylorMade R9 series are great irons for golfers looking for forgiveness without sacrificing performance. Like the TaylorMade R7, the clubface of the Taylor Made R9 uses (ICT) inverted cone technology on the inner side of the clubface for consistent ball speed on off-center hits. With ICT as their foundation, the new TaylorMade R9 irons long and mid irons were designed separately from the TaylorMade R9 short irons to optimize performance in each club. The TaylorMade R9 3- through 6-irons house a fully enclosed, foam-filled compartment located directly behind the clubface and beneath the cavity badge known as the "Velocity Control Chamber." The design of this chamber results in a higher launch angle, more power, and optimal feel. With an ultra thin face that wraps around the topline and leading edge, the face flexes at impact, acting like a thin-faced driver resulting in a higher CoR, faster ball speed, and added distance. The innovative shock-absorption system found in the TaylorMade R9 3 - 6 irons provides a satisfying feel and sound. A reviewer stated that although “you're never going to get the sort of feeling you expect from blades,” the technological design elements do make these clubs feel better than expected! The grooves in the TaylorMade R9 TP irons are in compliance with the new 'Condition of Competition' groove rules from the USGA and the R&A. For those looking to take these clubs into high-level competitions, you can do so confidently. There is a choice between two premium shafts for TaylorMade R9 irons, a KBS steel or a Fujikura® Motore graphite.
