The Garmin Approach G8 GPS features PlaysLike Distance which adjusts for uphill and downhill shots. Smart Notifications allows for messages on your mobile device to display on your Approach G8. PinPointer blind shot assistance lets you know the direction to the green, even when you can't actually see it. The Approach G8 receives the wireless signal from your iPhone® 4s or later, let's you know you have a message, and displays the full text on its own screen whenever you're ready to read it.

Club Advice remembers how far you hit each of your clubs and makes a recommendation based on the current shot distance. PinPointer lets you know the direction to the pin even when you are in the woods or a deep trap and cannot actually see the location of the flag.

The Approach G8 has a Big Number Mode which increases the size of the font for the front, center, and back distances. WiFi allows you to connect to the golf community within Garmin Connect and updates courses automatically.

The Garmin Approach G8 also has a scorecard function which allows you to keep score for your entire foresome. It will keep track of Stroke Play, Stableford, Skins, and Mach Play with adjustable handicaps.

The brilliant 3" color touchscreen shows layup arcs at 100, 150, 200, and 250 yards to let you know exactly how far to hit it to layup. Touch Tageting allows you to touch anywhere on the sunlight readable display and it shows the precises distance to that spot. Enhanced stats keeps track of fairways hit, greens in regulation, and putts per round. You can follow your stats during the round, or download them and print them afterward.

With Green View you can zero in on the pin. Simply tap the flag on the map to zoom into the target, then you can drag the flag to any position on the green.

Garmin Connect features a golf community that lets you play, then share and compare. Download you latest round and compare it to your last. You can track improvements to yur handicap and stats.
